Yapfloor Epoxy Primer

As a primer on absorbent surfaces such as concrete, lightweight concrete, cement-based plaster, screed and wood before polyurea, polyurethane, epoxy-based waterproofing applications and various floor coverings; It is also used to impregnate concrete surfaces and protect them against abrasion, dusting and chemicals

The surface must be clean and dry, free from oil, dirt, grease, coatings and other dirt, preventing adhesion. The surface must be solid and of sufficient strength. The surface tensile strength should be at least 1.5 N/mm², if in doubt, a test should be performed in a test area before application. Ground moisture should be checked before application, the moisture content should be below 4%. All dust, weak and crumbly parts should be removed from the surface with a brush or industrial vacuum cleaner before application.

10 kg Component A of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY PRIMER should be added to 5 kg Component B and mixed for approximately 3 minutes, preferably with a low-speed mixer, until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. Attention should be paid to the specified mixing ratios

The mixture should be spread on the surface with a steel trowel or squeegee and thoroughly fed to the surface with a roller. If the floor strength is not sure, it is recommended to apply two coats. Epoxy-based products have a limited pot life. It should be taken into account that the pot life and drying time will be shortened at high temperatures and lengthened at low temperatures. Especially in hot environments, enough mixture should be made to be used immediately, or after the mixture is made, it should not be kept in the mixing bucket and should be transferred to a container with a large surface area or to the application floor. The mixture that has already begun to gel should not be applied

It is recommended to lightly sprinkle 0.3-0.8 mm of quartz sand on the surface for better adhesion after priming and to be able to extend the waiting time of the primer before application

The consumption of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY PRIMER was determined as 0.30-0.50 kg/m². It may vary depending on ambient temperature and air circulation.

In YAPFLOOR® EPOXY PRIMER application, the surface and ambient temperature should be between +8°C and +30°C. In applications to be made in extremely cold weather, it should be ensured that the ambient and floor temperature is increased with the help of heaters, and the packages should be conditioned at (+20)oC-(+25)oC and made ready for use in order to increase the workability of the material. Application should be avoided in very humid and/or very hot weather. It should not be applied on surfaces that are frozen, melting or in danger of frost within 24 hours. It should not be applied to wet and frozen surfaces. Surfaces must have sufficient strength. The compressive strength of concrete should be at least 25 N/mm² and the tensile strength should be at least 1.5 N/mm². Application below +10°C should be avoided. While high temperatures shorten the curing time, low temperatures extend the curing time, and material consumption increases at low temperatures. Attention should be paid to the mixing proportions. Surfaces should be protected from moisture and rain for 4-6 hours after application. All tools used after the application should be cleaned with thinner before drying

It should be stored in a clean, dry and moisture-free environment between +50C and +350C, away from direct sunlight. It must be protected against water, frost and severe weather. The product is offered to the market in metal packages of 10 kg and 5 kg, in settlers with a total weight of 15 kg. Provided that the specified storage conditions are complied with, the storage life is a maximum of 12 months from the date of manufacture.

It is necessary to ventilate the work site. Warehouses and stock areas should not be approached with fire. The contact of the product with the skin and eyes should be strictly avoided, in such a case, the area where the product comes into contact with plenty of water should be washed immediately and medical help should be sought immediately. Food and beverages should also not come into contact with the product. It should be stored and protected in places away from children. For more information, the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) should be reviewed. In addition, the application of the product; It should be done by people with sufficient technical knowledge, equipment and experience.
