Areas of Use

Very heavy machine assemblies, machine foundations that will be exposed to high dynamic loads, repairs requiring high strength in beams and legs of gantry and tower cranes, It is used in bridge bearings, fixing steel columns to the foundation, repair and maintenance of marine structures, repair and protection of underground art structures, repair of large cracks in structures and slabs.

Surface Preparation Before Application

Preparation of Machine and Foundation Before placing the machine, loose and damaged areas in the concrete should be cleaned and the surfaces to be grouted should be roughened. All kinds of foreign substances such as oil, grease, dust, etc. on the bolt and base plate surfaces that may affect the performance of the grout should be cleaned and care should be taken to ensure
that the surfaces are dry. Air evacuation holes must be drilled in the base plate beforehand. The machine should be placed and its position and balance should be adjusted and its position should not be changed afterwards. If the adjustment wedges (shims) are to be removed later, they should be lightly lubricated to prevent the mortar from sticking.

Preparation of Moulds The moulds should be made of strong material and should be mounted in a way to withstand the forces to be encountered during the process. On the side
where the grout mortar will be poured, a casting gap of 5 cm should be left between the edge of the base plate and the mould. In order to give the grout mortar the pressure to spread, the height of the mould should be considered according to the situation on the casting side. In order to fill the bottom of very large sized slabs, it may be necessary to take measures such as making a pressure height of up to 1.5 m
or using equipment such as pumps, pipes, etc. To prevent leakage and pressure loss, the edges of the moulds must be free of gaps.

Method of Application

Preparation of the Mixture: YAPBUILT© EPOXY GROUT Components A and B should be added to a clean mixing bucket andmixed with a low speed mixer for 3 minutes. Then, component C should be added slowly and mixed with a 400-600 speed mixer until a homogenous and lump-free mixture is obtained.

Repair Applications The prepared mortar should be applied to the surface with a trowel with a thickness between 4 mm and 50 mm. Maximum application thickness should not exceed 50 mm in a single coat. Large surfaces open to the atmosphere, especially hot, dry and windy environments, should be protected from external influences for 24-48 hours

Grout Applications If there are other machines working in the vicinity of the machine to fill the foundation, the vibration on the surface of a container of water placed on the base plate should be observed to determine to what extent the vibrations coming from the environment are transmitted. If necessary, the machines should not be operated until the grout mortar is cured (at least 10-12
hours at +20oC). The prepared mortar should be poured continuously on the surface from only one side of the mould with a thickness between 4 mm and 50 mm in a single layer. Two-sided casting should be avoided to prevent air trapped in the mould. In order to
ensure that all the cavities in the mould are filled, a steel wire with a hooked end should be used, no vibrator should be used. Moulds should not be removed before 18 – 24 hours. Large surfaces open to the atmosphere, especially hot, dry and windy environments, should be protected from external influences for 24 – 48 hours. If it is desired to break the exposed edges, they can be broken after the setting has started and the mortar has hardened enough to remove the mould. Adjustment wedges should not be removed before 2 days. After the machine is put into operation, the looseness of nuts and bolts should be checked.

Post-Application Care and Recommendations

Do not apply YAPBUILT® EPOXY GROUT at temperatures below +5oC. In exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sun, wind, rain or frost for the first 24 hours. Make sure that the material is mixed in the correct mixing ratio. Working and reaction times of resin based systems are affected by ambient and ground temperature and relative humidity in the air. At low temperatures, the reaction slows down, this increases the usage time and working timeHigh temperatures accelerate the reaction and the times mentioned above are shortened accordingly. In order for the material to complete curing, the ambient and ground temperature must not fall below the minimum permissible temperature. YAPBUILT® EPOXY GROUT is produced in ready-to-use sets. Solvent etc. should not be added into the mixture during application. Vibrator should not be used while placing the material.

Consumption

1,95 – 2,05 kg/m2 (1 mm for thickness)

Storage and Shelf Life

It should be stored in a clean, dry and moisture-free environment between +50C and +250C, away from direct sunlight. It should be protected against water, frost and severe weather conditions. In short-term storage, maximum 3 pallets should be placed on top of each other and shipment should be made on a first-in, first-out system. For long term storage, pallets should not be stacked on top of each other. Storage life is maximum 12 months from the date of production, provided that the specified storage conditions are complied with
