Fibrous polymer plate is used as an adhesive on the surface of structural elements such as beams, floors, etc., to be reinforced with the YAPBUILT© FRP LAM system.
Suitable carbon fiber polymer plates should be cut to the dimensions specified in the project. It must be applied together with the system components YAPBUILT® SATURANT, YAPBUILT® FRP PRIMER and YAPBUILT® FRP BOND in accordance with the application specifications.
Mixing: YAPBUILT® FRP BOND is supplied in ready-to-use sets according to the mixing ratio. Before starting the mixture, it should be ensured that the material temperatures are between (+15) – (+25)°C. All of component B must be emptied into component A and it must be ensured that there is no material left in component B. The mixture should be mixed with a mixer of approximately 300 rpm and a suitable mixing tip for at least 2-3 minutes, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, making sure that there is no unmixed material on the edges and bottom of the package
Application: Within 24 hours following the YAPBUILT® FRP PRIMER application, YAPBUILT® FRP BOND application should be started. The material should be applied with a spatula to the smooth surfaces of the pre-prepared carbon fiber polymer plates (laminate) to obtain a thickness of 1-1.5 mm. At the same time, the primer should be applied to the applied surfaces with a YAPBUILT® FRP BOND spatula to obtain a thickness of 1-1.5mm. Then, the carbon fiber polymer plates with glue applied to the back should be fixed in their places, slightly stretched in line with the fibers and in such a way that they do not swell. Then, it should be pressed on the carbon plates with a roller in line with the fibers, ensuring that there is no gap between them and the concrete surface. In areas that will be exposed to sunlight, the material should be covered with appropriate YAPBUILD® series repair mortars within 7 days at the latest after application. When resistance to fire is desired, it should be covered with fire-resistant special mortars of appropriate thickness.
During the application, the ambient and surface temperature should not be below (+5)°C and above (+35)°C. YAPBUILT® FRP systems should be implemented by expert practitioners. The operating and reaction times of resin-based systems are affected by ambient and ground temperature and relative humidity in the air. At low temperatures, the chemical reaction slows down, which increases the life of the pan, the duration of the coatability and the operating time. At the same time, as the viscosity increases, the consumption increases. High temperatures increase the chemical reaction, and the times mentioned above are correspondingly shortened. In order for the entire material to complete its cure, the ambient and floor temperature should not fall below the minimum permissible temperature. After completion of the coating, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. YAPBUILT® FRP BOND is supplied in ready-to-use sets. During the application, solvents such as solvents should not be added to the mixture. Care should be taken to prepare enough material to be used during the working period. Mixing must necessarily be carried out with the help of suitable mechanical mixers. Manual mixing should not be done. It should be stored in its unopened original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. In short-term storage, a maximum of 3 pallets should be placed on top of each other and shipment should be made with a first-in, first-out system. In long-term storage, pallets should not be stacked on top of each other. Under proper storage conditions, it is 18 months from the date of manufacture. Opened packages should be stored under appropriate storage conditions and used within a week.
Preventive measures for the use of habitual chemical products should also be observed when using this product. When the work is interrupted or the work is completed, hands should be washed with plenty of water, food and drink should not be consumed, and smoking should not be allowed.
