Used as a primer material before epoxy-polyurethane insulation on damp concrete surfaces as it forms a bond with water molecules in rainy weather conditions; as a primer for insulation systems; as a resin system for lamination; and as a primer for different surfaces in polyurea applications. Used as a primer material on concrete and cementitious surfaces before the application of epoxy and polyurethane floor coating systems; as a concrete primer to wet the concrete surface and provide a good adhesion bridge before epoxy mortar, epoxy self-leveling screed, epoxy laminate or epoxy/polyurethane topcoat coatings. Can be used for repairing large cracks and chamfering by mixing with silica sand of different diameters
YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 is the primer material of epoxy, polyurethane, and polyurea coating systems. Ensure that the compressive strength of the concrete floors to be treated is 25 N/mm² and the minimum value for the pull-off test is 1.5 N/mm². All loose particles, oil and paint residues should be free of cement slurry. Repair any faulty surfaces in the concrete in advance. The residues, irregularities and glossy screed on the concrete surface should be cleaned with tools such as sandblasting machine, wiping machine with diamond drum, etc., and the surface should be roughened and wiped. Use an industrial vacuum cleaner to ensure that the entire surface is free of any dust.
YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 is supplied in ready-to-use sets depending on the mixture ratio. Make sure that the material temperature is between (+15) and (+25)°C before starting mixing. Mix 23.60 kg component A of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 thoroughly for 3-4 minutes with a 300-400 rpm mechanical mixer equipped with epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing nozzle, without letting air into the mixture. Then, pour the entire 6.40 kg of component B into component A and make sure that there is no material left in the container for component B.
As a Primer and Adherence Bridge: May be applied with a roll or trowel. Ensure that YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 covers both non-porous and other surfaces. Apply 2 coats of primer if required.
As Leveling Mortar: Apply YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 depending on the desired thickness with a notched trowel or rake.
As an Undercoat: Pour YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 onto the surface, spread with a notched trowel and roll in two
directions with a spiked roller. If required, the surface can be blasted with quartz with several passes until no wetness is
visible on the surface after about 15-20 minutes.
The consumption amount of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 is calculated as 0.3 – 0.8 kg/m2 depending on the size of the filler, the condition of the substrate and its porosity. Application of a second coat of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103 increases the protection against highly porous surfaces and increased humidity with a consumption of 0.2 – 0.4 kg/m2. The consumption of kiln dried 0.3 – 0.8 mm silica sand spread on the still wet primer is approximately 1.0 kg/m2. The consumption figures stated above are intended as a guide only, these figures may be higher for rough or porous substrates
For the application of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY FP 103, ensure that the relative humidity of the air is max. 80%, while the ambient and surface temperature is between +8°C and +35°C. Also, do not apply in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather, too. Surface temperature should be 3°C above the current dew temperature. For applications to be carried out at suitable temperatures, bring the materials to be used to the application area 1-2 days in advance, ensuring that they are stored and adapted to the ambient conditions. For applications to be carried out in extremely cold weather, increase
the ambient and floor temperature by means of heaters, and condition the packaging at +20oC to +25oC to improve the processability of the material and make it ready for use. Epoxy and polyurethane based floor systems should be applied by specialized installers. Working and reaction times of resin based systems are affected by ambient and floor temperatures and relative moisture in the air. At low temperatures, the chemical reaction slows down, thus prolonging he using period, the coating period and the working period. At the same time, consumption is increased as viscosity increases. High temperatures speed up chemical reaction; so the above-mentioned times get shorter accordingly. After the completion of the coating, ensure that the ambient temperature does not fall below +8°C for at least 36-48 hours, and that there is no direct contact with water or snow on the recently applied product. In case of water contact, this will
lead to carbonation and softening of the coating, which will cause the coating to lose its properties.

Store in its sealed original package in a cool and dry place, protecting from frost, at temperatures between +10oC and +25oC degrees. For short-term storage, stack maximum 3 pallets on top of each other and ship them via FIFO system. Do not stack pallets on top of each other for long term storage
Wear work clothes, protective gloves, goggles and masks in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Rules during the application. Due to the irritating effects of uncured materials, ensure that the components is not allowed to come into contact with the skin and eyes; and in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water, and in case of ingestion, consult a physician immediately. Do not bring food and beverage into the application areas. Store out of the reach of children. See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information.
