YAPFLOOR®

Epoxy Based Moisture Tolerant Primer

Epoxy based, two-component, low-viscosity, solvent-free, moisture tolerant primer material suitable for damp surfaces.

It has a curing mechanism that can be applied on damp concrete and continues even in contact with water after application,
Thanks to its high adhesion and wetting ability, it is suitable for use on glossy mineral surfaces, including ceramics,
With its flexible rigid structure, it is suitable for use as a primer for insulation systems and lamination resin,
It has a low viscosity, can be easily applied by roller or airless spray

Uses

Since it forms bonds with water molecules in rainy weather conditions, it is used as a primer material before epoxy-polyurethane insulation on moist concrete surfaces, as a primer for insulation systems and as a resin system in lamination making, and as a primer for different surfaces in polyurea applications. It is used as a primer material on concrete and cementitious surfaces before epoxy and polyurethane flooring systems, and as a concrete primer to wet the concrete surface and provide a good adhesion bridge before epoxy mortar, epoxy self leveling screed, epoxy laminate or epoxy/polyurethane top coat coatings. It can be mixed with silica sand of different diameters and used in the repair process of large cracks and chamfering.

Surface Preparation Before Application

YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101 is the primer material of epoxy, polyurethane, polyurea coating systems. The compressive strength of the concrete floors to be applied should be 25 N/mm² and the minimum rupture and pull-off test should be 1.5 N/mm². All loose, particles, oil and paint residues must be free of cement grout. Problematic surfaces in concrete must be repaired in advance. Residues, roughness and shiny screed on the concrete surface should be cleaned with tools such as sandblasting, sandblasting, diamond drum wiping machine, etc., and the surface should be roughened and wiped. With an industrial vacuum cleaner, the entire surface should be cleaned of dust

Application

YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101 is supplied in ready-to-use sets according to the mixing ratio. Before mixing begins, it should be ensured that the material temperatures are between +15 and +25°C. The 10 kg A component epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing tip of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101 should be thoroughly mixed with a 300 – 400 rpm mechanical mixer for 3 – 4 minutes, without dragging air into it. Then, all 4 kg of component B should be emptied into component A and it should be ensured that there is no material left in component B.

As a Primer and Adherence Bridge: It can be applied with a roller, trowel. YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101 is non-porous and should cover the entire surface. If necessary, 2 layers of primer are applied.

As Leveling Mortar: YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101 is applied with a notched trowel or gelber in accordance with the desired thickness.

As a coating as an intermediate: YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101 is poured on the surface, spread with a notched trowel, and rolled in two directions with a hedgehog roller. If necessary, after about 15-20 minutes, the surface can be blunted with quartz sand in a few times until there is no wetness on the surface

Consumption

The following consumption values of YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101 are insightful, and there may be additional material consumption depending on the quality of the surface, leveling differences, pore structure and wastage.
As Primer: 200-500 g/m2 (depending on the pore surface of the concrete)
As Adherence Bridge: 200-400 g/m2
As Leveling Mortar: 1 unit by weight YAPFLOOR© EPOXY HP 101 0.5 to 1 unit 0.1-0.3 mm. thick quartz sand is mixed and applied. Consumption will be 1.5 / 1.7 kg/m2/mm.
As Intermediate: 1 unit by weight YAPFLOOR© EPOXY HP 101 is applied by mixing 0.5 to 1 unit of 0.1-0.3 mm. thick quartz sand. Consumption will be 1.9 kg/m2/mm. (Optionally, the surface is blinded with quartz sand with a thickness of 0.4-0.7 mm at a consumption of approximately 4 kg/m2 while it is still wet.)
As Thick Layer Mortar: 1 unit by weight of YAPFLOOR© EPOXY HP 101 and 8 units of quartz sand are mixed in the mixture specified below. Consumption will be 2.0 kg/m2/mm.

Post-Application Care and Recommendations

When applying YAPFLOOR® EPOXY HP 101, the relative humidity of the air should be at most 80%, and the ambient and surface temperature should be between +8°C and +35°C. In addition, it should not be applied in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather. The ground temperature should be 3°C above the current dew temperature. In applications to be made at appropriate temperatures, the materials to be used should be brought to the application area and stored 1-2 days in advance and it should be ensured that they adapt to the ambient conditions. In applications to be made in extremely cold weather, it should be ensured that the ambient and floor temperature is increased with the help of heaters, and in order to increase the workability of the material, the packages should be conditioned at +20°C – +25°C and made ready for use. Epoxy and polyurethane based floor systems should be applied by expert installers. The operating and reaction times of resin-based systems are affected by ambient and ground temperature and relative humidity in the air. At low temperatures, the chemical reaction slows down, which increases the duration of use, coating time and operating time. At the same time, as the viscosity increases, the consumption increases. High temperatures increase the chemical reaction, and the times mentioned above are correspondingly shortened. After the completion of the coating, the air temperature should not fall below +8°C within at least 36-48 hours, and there should be no direct water contact or snow on the newly applied product. If there is water contact, this will create carbonation and softening on the coating, which will cause the coating to lose its properties.

Packing

14 kg Set
Component A: 10 kg Metal Bucket, Component B: 4 kg Metal Bucket

Storage and Shelf Life

It should be stored in its unopened original packaging, at a temperature of + 10 to + 25 degrees, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. In short-term storage, a maximum of 3 pallets should be placed on top of each other and shipment should be made with a first-in, first-out system. In long-term storage, pallets should not be stacked on top of each other.

Safety Precaution Information

During the application, work clothes, protective gloves, goggles and masks should be used in accordance with the Occupational and Occupational Health Rules. Due to the irritating effects of uncured materials, the components should not come into contact with the skin and eyes, if they come into contact, they should be washed immediately with plenty of soap and water, and if swallowed, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Food and beverage materials should not be brought into the application areas. It should be stored out of the reach of children. For more information, the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) should be reviewed. In addition, the application of the product; It should be done by people with sufficient technical knowledge, equipment and experience.
