Yapseal Bitüment 1C

Used as an insulation material against ground moisture, leaking water and unpressurized groundwater in foundations, curtain walls, wet areas and balconies of all buildings.

Ensure that the surface is clean, smooth, strong and is not exposed to frost, free from adhesion inhibiting residues such as mold oil, cement residues and loose parts. Chamfer inner corners with structural repair mortars of YAPBUILT© range, and in cases where quick application or resistance against sulphate is required, with YAPBUILT© RM S70, while outer corners should be rounded by trimming with mechanical methods. Level the surface cavities deeper than 5 mm with structural repair mortars of YAPBUILT© range. Prime the surfaces with YAPSEAL© BITUMENT 1C diluted at a ratio of 1/5 (YAPSEAL©
BITUMENT 1C/water). The prepared primer should be evenly spread and applied with a suitable brush, without allowing material to accumulate on horizontal surfaces.

When the primer coat has dried, apply at least 2 coats of YAPSEAL© BITUMENT 1C evenly over the entire surface with a brush, trowel or spray without diluting it. Proceed to the application of the second coat after the application of the first coat is completely dry. For areas that are exposed to temporary and permanent water pressure, place an alkali resistant glass fiber reinforcement mesh with a maximum weight of 110 g/m2 on the entire surface after the first coat of YAPSEAL© BITUMENT 1C and apply the second coat of YAPSEAL© BITUMENT 1C to completely cover the mesh in order to ensure an application thickness of 4 mm.

Do not apply YAPSEAL © BITUMENT 1C on metal surfaces. Never add foreign substances. In applications made with spray, exercise due care to clean the product inside the machine assembly before it sets.

Do not seal the dilatation joints on the application surfaces with YAPSEAL © BITUMENT 1C, and provide the integrity of insulation at these points with dilatation insulation tapes. Do not apply when it is raining or when there is a possibility of precipitation. As curing will be slower in cold weathers, make sure that the first coat is completely dry before applying the second coat. Within not more than 3 days, cover the surfaces on which YAPSEAL © BITUMENT 1C has been applied, protecting against external conditions. Protect against frost, sunlight and strong wind for the first 24 hours after application. As YAPSEAL © BITUMENT 1C is not a UV resistant material, cover it with a suitable material after the curing period. Do not fill soil on YAPSEAL © BITUMENT 1C applied foundation curtain walls without applying protection.
Cover the entire surface with polyethylene before proceeding to the next process after the application of the product horizontally. After application, wash all tools used with water before they dry. Remove dried residues with thinner

To achieve a wet thickness of 1.5 mm, an average of 2.3 – 2.6 kg/m2 YAPSEAL© BITUMENT 1C is required

Store in a clean, dry environment, free from moisture, between +50C and +350C, away from direct sunlight. Protect against water, frost and severe weather condition. Store in stacks of maximum 3 layers. Storage life is maximum 12 months from the date of production, provided that the storage conditions specified are complied with

First, take all necessary Occupational Health and Safety precautions in the areas for the application and ensure that the operations are carried out by persons with technical knowledge and equipment. Follow the Occupational Health and Safety instructions for all the work carried out.

It is mandatory to use all occupational safety equipment such as work
clothes, protective gloves/goggles/masks etc. specified in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety instructions during the application. The working area needs to be ventilated. Do not approach warehouses and storage areas with fire. Avoid contact of the product with skin and eyes, immediately wash the area of contact with plenty of water and seek medical advice immediately in such a case. Also, prevent contact of food and beverages with the product. Store and protect away from children. See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information. Also, the application of the product should be carried out by persons with adequate technical knowledge, equipment and experience. The user is solely responsible for this.
