Yapseal Bitüment Primer

Used as a primer before bitumen based liquid or membrane type water insulation applications on foundations, peered walls,wet areas, balconies and terraces of all buildings, on parking lots and bacha terraces.

Ensure that the surface is clean, smooth, strong and is not exposed to frost, free from adhesion inhibiting residues such as mold oil, cement residues and loose parts. Chamfer inner corners with structural repair mortars of YAPBUILT© range, and in cases where quick application or resistance against sulphate is required, with YAPBUILT© RM S70, while outer corners should be rounded by trimming with mechanical methods. Level the surface cavities deeper than 5 mm with structural repair mortars of YAPBUILT© range.

Mix YAPSEAL© BITUMENT PRIMER until a homogeneous mixture is achieved before application. Apply YAPSEAL© BITUMENT PRIMER over the entire surface with a brush. You may proceed to the application of the insulation coat after the product has completely dried (after the color of the product has turned black).

Ambient temperature should be between +5℃ and +30℃. Avoid application in very humid and/or very hot weather. Do not apply on surfaces that are frozen, melting or in danger of frost within 24 hours.

YAPSEAL © BITUMENT PRIMER is not applied against negative water pressure. Do not apply on metal surfaces. Never add foreign substances. After application, wash all tools used with water before they dry. Remove dried residues with thinner.

To achieve a wet thickness of 1 mm, an average of 0.10 – 0.15 kg/m2 YAPSEAL© BITUMENT PRIMER is required.

Store in a clean, dry environment, free from moisture, between +50C and +350C, away from direct sunlight. Protect against water, frost and severe weather conditions. Store in stacks of maximum 3 layers. Storage life is maximum 12 months from the date of production, provided that the storage conditions specified are complied with.

First, take all necessary Occupational Health and Safety precautions in the areas for the application and ensure that the operations are carried out by persons with technical knowledge and equipment. Follow the Occupational Health and Safety instructions for all the work carried out. It is mandatory to use all occupational safety equipment such as work clothes, protective gloves/goggles/masks etc. specified in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety instructions during the application. The working area needs to be ventilated. Do not approach warehouses and storage
areas with fire. Avoid contact of the product with skin and eyes, immediately wash the area of contact with plenty of water and seek medical advice immediately in such a case. Also, prevent contact of food and beverages with the product. Store and protect away from children. See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information. Also, the application of the product should be carried out by persons with adequate technical knowledge, equipment and experience. The user is solely responsible for this.
