Yapseal Bitüment PU 1C

It is used as an insulation material against moisture, non-pressurized and pressurized water in the waterproofing of foundations, curtain walls, terrace roofs, balconies, parking lots, bridge tops and similar areas of all buildings. It is also applied as a waterproofing material in wet area insulation, renovations of old waterproofing coatings.

Surface preparation is of great importance for optimum strength and appearance. The surface must be clean, dry, smooth, firm and free from dirt that may affect primer adhesion. The application surface moisture content should not be more than 5%. The surface compressive strength should be at least 25 Mpa and the adhesion strength should be 1.5 Mpa. Fresh concrete should be waited for at least 28 days to dry. Old coatings, dirt and organic components should be removed from the surface with sandpaper or shot-blasting. Substances such as oil and grease on the surface should be cleaned. Defects on the surface should be corrected. It is the removal of weak particles on the surface and the dust formed after sanding from the surface. Significant defects and holes in the surface should be repaired with YAPBUILT© series structural repair mortars at least 24 hours before the application of weberdry PUR basic. The dilatation joints on the application surfaces should not be closed, and dilatation insulation tapes should be used for the continuity of insulation at these points. To ensure continuity of tightness, vertical and horizontal corners must be chamfered with structural repair mortars of the YAPBUILT© series. There is no need to apply primer on solid and high-quality concrete surfaces. Cementitious and absorbent surfaces such as wood and glass, metal, old ceramic, bitumen, acrylic coated surfaces should be primed with YAPFLOOR© EPOXY PRIMER.

YAPSEAL© BITUMENT PU 1C should be stirred for at least 2-3 minutes. YAPSEAL© BITUMENT PU 1C should be applied to the entire surface with the help of a brush or roller to the primed surface. The thickness of the application of a single layer (dry film) should not exceed 0.6 mm. Fine cracks, joints, corners and edges should be supported with geofelt after the first coat application

n terrace roofs and similar applications, geofelt application should be made to the entire surface after the first floor application. The joints should be overlapped by 5-10 cm. The application should be at least 2 layers, waiting at least 12 hours between coats (waiting time should not exceed 36 hours). If ceramic is to be applied on the waterproofing layer, the surface waterproofing layer should be saturated with dried silica while it is still wet (aggregate size 0.4-0.8 mm). With this application, an adherence bridge will be provided for ceramic application

The moisture content of YAPSEAL © BITUMENT PU 1C application surfaces should not be more than 5%. For an ideal application, the surface compressive strength should be at least 25 Mpa and the adhesion strength should be 1.5 Mpa. The thickness of the application of a single layer (dry film) should not exceed 0.6 mm. The product should be kept away from sources of fire and should not be approached with cigarettes. During the application, gloves and glasses should be used, and eye and skin contact should be avoided. In case of contact of the material with eyes and skin, it should be rinsed with plenty of water and a doctor should be consulted immediately. There must be sufficient air circulation in the application area. The cured material must be protected with a drainage board prior to filling. When additional (optional) thermal insulation is required , an insulation board (XPS, EPS, PUR, etc.) should be placed on YAPSEAL © BITUMENT PU 1C, and then a drainage board should be placed.YAPSEAL © BITUMENT PU 1C is slippery when wet. In order to create a non-slip surface, the material should be sprinkled on the surface with suitable aggregate while it is still wet. Low temperatures prolong the curing time, high temperatures accelerate curing. High humidity can affect the surface appearance.

It should be stored in a clean, dry and moisture-free environment between +50C and +350C, away from direct sunlight. It must be protected against water, frost and severe weather. It should be stored in stacks of no more than 3 layers. Provided that the specified storage conditions are complied with, the storage life is a maximum of 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Occupational Health and Safety instructions must be followed in all work It is mandatory to use all work safety equipment such as work clothes, protective gloves/glasses/masks specified in the Occupational Health and Safety instructions during the application. Contact of the product with skin and eyes must be strictly prevented, in such a case, the area where the product has come into contact should be washed immediately with plenty of water and medical help should be sought without delay. For more information, the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) should be reviewed. In addition, the application of the product should be done by people with sufficient technical knowledge, equipment and experience. The responsibility in this regard belongs exclusively to the user.
