Yapseal Crystal

Used for waterproofing of horizontal and vertical surfaces of buildings, waterproofing from negative or positive sides, waterproofing of underground and above ground structures, insulation of foundations and partitions, elevator pits, reinforced concrete pipes, wet areas.

Ensure that the surface is clean, moist, smooth and strong. Repair major defects and holes on the surface using YAPBUILT© range of repair mortars at least 24 hours before the application of YAPSEAL© CRYSTAL. Chamfer vertical and horizontal corners to ensure a continuous seal. Wet surfaces such as exposed concrete, cement based plaster with clean water and wait until the water layer has disappeared while the surface remains damp. Prime very porous surfaces with undiluted YAPBOND© PRIMER A at least 1 hour before the application of YAPSEAL© CRYSTAL in order to stabilize the water absorption of surface.

Add 25 kg of YAPSEAL© CRYSTAL to 8.0 – 8.5 L of clean water gradually and mix with a low speed mixer for about 2-3 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. After allowing the mixture to rest for 2 minutes, mix it again for 30 seconds to prepare it for application.

Apply YAPSEAL© CRYSTAL in at least 2 coats over the entire surface by brush or spraying. In case of application with a brush,
apply each coat in a direction perpendicular to the previous one. Wait for at least 5 hours between coats. For 72 hours after the application, cure the surface by moisturizing the surface at regular intervals.

Apply with consumption of ~ 1.30 kg/m2 on the first coat, ~ 1.15 kg/m2 on the second coat, and ~ 1.15 kg/m2 on the third coat.

The consumption under the foundation with the dry spreading method is 3 kg/m2.

When applying YAPSEAL © NP CRYSTAL, if the ambient temperature and surface temperature are below +8°C or above +30°C, wait for suitable temperatures. Also, do not apply in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather. For applications on exterior surfaces, the surface needs to be protected from sun, wind, rain and frost for the first 24 hours. YAPSEAL © NP CRYSTAL applied at +23°C gains mechanical strength after 2 days, becomes waterproof after 7 days, and gains its final strength after 14 days. Working and reaction times of cement and acrylic based systems are affected by ambient and floor temperatures and relative moisture in the air. Reaction slows down in low temperatures and this condition extends pan life and working time. High temperatures speed up reaction; so the above-mentioned times get shorter accordingly. In order to ensure the material is curedcompletely, ambient and surface temperature should not fall below the permitted minimum temperature. During application,ensure that wet film thickness does not exceed 2 mm in a single coat. Ensure that application is performed in at least two coats.Cover walking paths with screed or ceramic tiles with YAPRHEO ® LATEX 5.

Store in a clean, dry environment, free from moisture, between +50C and +350C, away from direct sunlight. Protect against water, frost and severe weather conditions. The liquid B component of YAPSEAL © CRYSTAL freezes at temperatures below 0°C. Store in stacks of maximum 3 layers. Storage life is maximum 12 months from the date of production, provided that the storage conditions specified are complied with.

First, take all necessary Occupational Health and Safety precautions in the areas for the application and ensure that the operations are carried out by persons with technical knowledge and equipment. Follow the Occupational Health and Safety instructions for all the work carried out. It is mandatory to use all occupational safety equipment such as work clothes,protective gloves/goggles/masks etc. specified in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety instructions during the application. The working area needs to be ventilated. Do not approach warehouses and storage areas with fire. Avoid
contact of the product with skin and eyes, immediately wash the area of contact with plenty of water and seek medical advice immediately in such a case. Also, prevent contact of food and beverages with the product. Store and protect away from children. See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information. Also, the application of the product should be carried out by persons with adequate technical knowledge, equipment and experience. The user is solely responsible for this.
