Yapseal Liquid

Used as UV-resistant, colored, ready-to-use, super elastic waterproofing material both on the interior and exterior of all buildings, on rooftops, gutters and troughs, on the edges of chimneys and parapets, and on northern facades. Can be safely used both indoors and outdoors on cement-based screeds, plasters, exposed concrete and slabs, galvanized, zinc and aluminum surfaces, and old bituminous surfaces (at least 1 year old).

Ensure that the surface is clean, smooth and strong, free from adhesion inhibiting residues such as mold oil and loose parts. Repair major defects and holes on the surface using YAPBUILT© RM 400, and use YAPBUILT© RM S70 in cases where rapid application or resistance against sulphate is required, at least 24 hours before the application of YAPSEAL© LIQUID.Prime the application surfaces with YAPSEAL© LIQUID diluted with water at a ratio of 1/4. Challenging surfaces such as old bituminous and metal surfaces need to be primed with YAPFLOOR © EPOXY PRIMER for high adherence.

When the primer coat has dried, apply YAPSEAL© LIQUID in at least 2 coats over the entire surface using a roller, brush or by spraying, without diluting it.

Fine cracks, intersections, corners and edges should be supported with polyester felt after the application of the first coat.For terrace roofs, apply polyester felt on the entire surface after the application of the first coat.

Apply the second coat in a perpendicular direction to the first after the first coat has cured. Wait minimum 6 hours between
coats. Ensure that ambient temperature is between +10oC and +35oC. Avoid application in very humid and/or very hot weather. Do not apply on surfaces that are frozen, melting or in danger of frost within 24 hours.

YAPSEAL © LIQUID is not applied against negative water pressure. Never use salt water. Never add foreign
substances. Do not seal the dilatation joints on the application surfaces with YAPSEAL© LIQUID, and provide the integrity of insulation at these points with dilatation insulation tapes. After application, wash all tools used with water before they dry.

To achieve an application thickness of 1 mm, an average of 1.40 – 1.90 kg/m2 YAPSEAL © LIQUID is required.

Storage and Shelf Life
Store in a clean, dry environment, free from moisture, between +50C and +350C, away from direct sunlight. Protect against water, frost and severe weather conditions. Store in stacks of maximum 3 layers. Storage life is maximum 12 months from the date of production, provided that the storage conditions specified are complied with.

First, take all necessary Occupational Health and Safety precautions in the areas for the application and ensure that the operations are carried out by persons with technical knowledge and equipment. Follow the Occupational Health and Safety instructions for all the work carried out. It is mandatory to use all occupational safety equipment such as work
clothes, protective gloves/goggles/masks etc. specified in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety instructions during the application. The working area needs to be ventilated. Do not approach warehouses and storage areas with fire. Avoid contact of the product with skin and eyes, immediately wash the area of contact with plenty of water and seek medical advice immediately in such a case. Also, prevent contact of food and beverages with the product. Store and protect away from children. See Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information. Also, the application of the product should be carried out by persons with adequate technical knowledge, equipment and experience. The user is solely responsible for this.
