Yapseal Megalastic PU 550 UV

Used for water insulation and protection of horizontal terraces, roofs, balconies, parking lots, bridge decks and similar areas of all buildings. Also applied as water insulation material for insulation of wet areas, insulation of areas where resistance against plant roots is required, and for renovation of old water insulation coatings.

Surface preparation is crucial for optimum strength and appearance. Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, smooth, strong and free from dirt that may affect the adhesion of the primer. Moisture rate on the application surface should not exceed 5%. Ensure that the surface compressive strength is at least 25 Mpa and bonding strength is 1.5 Mpa. Wait at least 28 days for fresh concrete to dry. Remove old coatings, dirt and organic compounds from the surface by sanding or shot-blasting. Remove substances such
as oil and grease from the surface. Repair the defects on the surface. Remove fine particles on the surface and the dust formed after sanding. Repair major defects and holes on the surface using YAPBUILT© range of repair mortars at least 24 hours before the application of basic. Do not seal the dilatation joints on the application surfaces, use dilatation insulation tapes for the integrity of the insulation at these points. Chamfer vertical and horizontal corners with repair mortars of YAPBUILT© range to ensure a
continuous seal. No need to apply primer on strong and high quality concrete surfaces. Prime the absorbent surfaces such as cement based and wooden surfaces and glass, metal, old ceramic, bitumen, acrylic coated surfaces with YAPFLOOR© EPOXY PRIMER, PU PR .

Fine cracks, intersections, corners and edges should be supported with geo felt after the application of the first coat. For terrace roofs and similar applications, apply on the entire surface after the application of the first coat. Apply in at least 2 coats, waiting at least 12 hours between coats (waiting period should not exceed 36 hours). You may use YAPSEAL© MEGALASTIC PU 550 UV in the topcoat for permanent color, decorative appearance and high durability.

Ensure that the moisture rate on the application surfaces of YAPSEAL © MEGALASTIC PU 550 UV does not exceed 5%. For an ideal application, ensure that the surface compressive strength is at least 25 Mpa and bonding strength is 1.5 Mpa. The thickness of single coat application (dry film) should not exceed 0.6 mm. Keep the product away from sources of fire and do not approach with a cigarette. Always use gloves and goggles during application and avoid eye and skin contact. In case of contact with eyes and skin, rinse with plenty of water and consult a physician immediately. Always ensure adequate air circulation in the application area. Protect the cured material with a drainage board before filling. When you require additional (optional) thermal insulation, place an insulation board (XPS, EPS, PUR, etc.) over YAPSEAL © MEGALASTIC PU 550 UV and then use a drainage board. YAPSEAL © MEGALASTIC PU 550 UV is slippery when wet. To create a non-slip surface, spread suitable aggregate on the surface while the material is still wet. Low temperatures extend curing time, while high temperatures accelerate curing. High humidity can affect the appearance of the surface.
