Areas of Use

Used for laying ceramic, tile and similar coating materials on interior walls and floors and gas concrete. Can be safely used on ceramic tiles from top to bottom

Surface Preparation Before Application

Ensure that the surface is clean, dry and strong. Remove dust, dirt, mold oil, slag and paint residues that prevent adhesion on the application surface. Scrape sub-surfaces that are not self-supporting such as cracked plasters, weak surfaces, mortar and cement residues from the surface. Scrape off any plaster thinner than 3 mm on the application surface and clean the surface thoroughly. In case of defects and cracks on the application surface, fix them using YAPBUILT © range of repair mortars at least 24 hours before the application. Before application, prime the surface with an appropriate of primer of YAPBOND© range depending on the absorbency of the surface. Before starting the application on exposed concrete surfaces, prime the surface with YAPBOND© GYPSOPLAST to increase the adhesion strength. For ceramic applications on existing ceramics, prime the existing ceramics with YAPBOND© PRIMER ULTRA. Wipe dusty surfaces behind the ceramic with a damp cloth. Wet porous surfaces and wait until the water layer disappears while the surface remains damp Wipe dusty surfaces behind the ceramic with a damp cloth. Wet porous surfaces and wait until the water layer disappears while the surface remains damp.

Method of Application

Add 25 kg of YAPBOND© CA 52 slowly over an average of 5.50 – 6.00 liters of clean water. Mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, with a low speed mixer or a trowel. Allow the prepared mortar to rest for 3-5 minutes to set. Mix again for 1-2 minutes before starting the application. Apply the mortar on the surface and adjust its thickness with a toothed steel trowel. Determine the tooth size of the trowel according to the size of the ceramic to be laid and the smoothness of the application surface. For ceramics larger than 1100 cm2 in indoor applications, apply mortar both on the application surface and on the back of the ceramic (double-sided adhesion). To achieve good adhesion, expel the air by applying force by means of a rubber mallet. Bond the applied mortar within not more than 15-20 minutes. Do not perform adhesion on the mortar for applications exceeding this period and scrape the mortar from the surface. Consume the prepared mortar within 3 hours.

Maintenance and Recommendations After Application

Use the product within the life cycle of the container. Never use expired or crusted mortar left in the container. Prevent contact of tiles adhered with YAPBOND© CA 52 with direct water for at least 24 hours. Ensure that it is protected from frost and strong sunlight for 5-7 days. Proceed with joint filling application at least 24 hours after the ceramic adhesion applications to be performed on the floor. Floors can be opened to light pedestrian traffic after 24 hours. Protect the surface from air drafts during and after application. Prevent exposure of the mortar to direct sunlight in hot weather and mix the mortar with water at room temperature. Do not perform the application in rainy weather, and protect the application surface from rain for 24 hours. Ensure that surface temperature ranges between +5oC and +35oC during application. This product is not applicable on metal surfaces, floors to be exposed to heavy traffic, prefabricated floors and floors with underfloor heating, wooden floors, swimming pools, exposed concrete, plasterboard walls, surfaces exposed to climate changes and harsh conditions. Do not add any substance that is not specified in the application instructions. Do not inhale the dust and avoid contact with skin and eyes as it is cement based. Wash hands and application tools with plenty of water after application. Clean surfaces with a damp cloth.

Storage and Shelf Life

Store in a clean, dry environment, free from moisture, between +50C and +350C, away from direct sunlight. Protect against water, frost and severe weather conditions. Store in stacks of maximum 10 layers. Storage life is maximum 12 months from the date of production, provided that the storage conditions specified are complied with Store in stacks of maximum 10 layers.
