Field of Application

It is used in planting sprouts in concrete and stone walls, repairing and insulating large cracks, assembling and bonding all kinds of metal and steel parts to concrete and steel structural elements, sealing the outer surfaces in crack injection and fixing the injection packers, fixing the railings and earthquake dampers in bridges and viaducts, fixing the anchor elements.

Pre-application Surface Preparation

In reinforced concrete element repairs, the surface to be applied should be cleaned of dust, oil and construction waste, and damaged and loose concrete parts on the surface should be cleaned. Steel surfaces should be sandblasted and cleaned of rust. The edges of the broken surface should be cut as perpendicularly as possible, the rust in the reinforcement should be cleaned, and if necessary, new reinforcement should be added. If there is a discharge of water on the surface, it must be drained or covered with a suitable plug.

Method of Application

Preparation of the Mixture: YAPBUILT© EPOXY 645 is supplied in ready-to-use sets according to the mixing ratio. Before starting the mixture, it should be ensured that the material temperatures are between (+15) – (+25)oC. The entire 1.25 kg B component should be emptied into the 3.75 kg A component, and it should be ensured that there is no material left in the B component. The mixture should be mixed with a mixer of approximately 300 rpm and a suitable mixing tip for at least 3 minutes, making sure that there is no unmixed material on the edges and bottom of the package, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained

Application: YAPBUILT© EPOXY 645 should be applied to the prepared surface with a spatula or trowel. Application thickness should be at least 2 mm and at most 30 mm. In anchor manufacturing, holes should be drilled at a depth suitable for the project with a drill bit at least 6 mm larger than the reinforcement diameter. The drilled holes should be cleaned with a wire brush and compressed air. The prepared material must be filled into the appropriate mortar gun. The nozzle of the gun should be pulled outward from the bottom of the hole and the anchor hole should be filled with enough YAPBUILT© EPOXY 645. The anchor rod of the desired size and diameter should be placed in the hole by turning it.

Post-Application Care and Recommendations

When applying YAPBUILT® EPOXY 645, the ambient and surface temperature should not be below +10oC and not above +30oC. Epoxy injection processes should be performed by technically competent applicators. The operating and reaction times of resin-based systems are affected by ambient and ground temperature and relative humidity in the air. At low temperatures, the chemical reaction slows down, this increases the duration of its use and operation. High temperatures accelerate the chemical reaction, and the times mentioned above are correspondingly shortened. In order for the material to complete its cure, the ambient and surface temperature should not fall below the minimum allowable temperature. YAPBUILT® EPOXY 645 is supplied in ready-to-use kits. During the application, solvents such as solvents should not be added to the mixture. Mixing must necessarily be carried out with the help of suitable mechanical mixers. Manual mixing should not be done

Storage and Shelf Life

It should be stored in a clean, dry and moisture-free environment between +50C and +250C, away from direct sunlight. It must be protected against water, frost, and severe weather. In short-term storage, a maximum of 3 pallets should be placed on top of each other and shipment should be made with a first-in, first-out system. In long-term storage, pallets should not be stacked on top of each other. Provided that the specified storage conditions are complied with, the storage life is a maximum of 12 months from the date of manufacture.
